Last week in our Dallas Education Podcast, we introduced you to Alex Hales, the woman behind Teach for America Dallas-Fort Worth. We wanted to introduce you to the person behind the Executive Director title by chatting with her about how she got her start in education and why she decided to stay. In this week's interview, I asked her more about the organization and the role of TFA in Dallas. If you have any problem listening directly on our site, you can also listen on Soundcloud.
She pretty much never does interviews and explains why this week. We were lucky enough to get two!
Common complaints she addresses include, but are not limited to the following:
1. TFA teachers only get 5 weeks of training.
2. There are no people of color.
3. All TFA teachers quit.
