There isn’t as much laughter at the pain of their teachers as you'd think there would be. Before being given the opportunity to sit in administrator meetings, I saw most admins as singularly focused on reputation and presentation. Leaders that closely mirror the on the way out military-style, top-down approach follow that description. Working with those leaders as someone aspiring to be a leader that works with their campus is a challenge, but it is possible.
You can never know anything for sure, but it appears that my principals are open to growing and interested in working hand in hand with the teachers. If anything, I'm seeing how quickly free time can evaporate when getting yanked into an unexpected meeting that lasts over 2 hours. Hopefully I can be helpful. We'll see how this goes.
