What's at risk? Our ACE schools increasing the problem just to make the numbers work out. Our schools shifting around the kids that need the most help and making them worse because they don't have any stability. Even pro sports teams have rebuilding phases. Maybe we need to have a rebuilding year or 2 in DISD where we clean house on the student side and not just teachers and administrators. What does that look like? I don't know, but I'm not talking about removing them from school all together. I'm talking about the creation of a place for our students that need the most support and putting those resources there. DAEP doesn't count because the kids have a limited time there. They treat it like a short stint in jail and only pretend to be rehabilitated.
If we are honest about what we have and what we are doing, the district will look very different inside the classroom and out.
