A second parent from East Dallas has reached out to discuss their view on the Dallas ISD District 2 race. This parent, a Kingston supporter, has decided to change his vote from Kirkpatrick to Marshall after taking a closer look at both candidates. Looks like a vote for Kingston doesn't necessarily mean a vote for Kirkpatrick after all.
Time to dive into these 4 priorities. Thank you, Lori, for letting us know a bit more about what you want to accomplish.
Parent perspective matters. When Ross Williams, a parent from district 2, reached out to discuss his views on the current runoff election, I just had to post his thoughts. Thank you, Ross, for taking the time to write in.
Well that was a close one...

There are many “tools” at teachers’ disposals to deal with unruly students. Many of them involve talking. Whether it’s to the students, parents, or both, a discussion MUST happen if there will be any sort of change. Miguel Solis has been proposing an interesting solution recently that could change the teacher toolbox.

The only incumbent running for reelection this cycle and the 15 year leader of District 5, Dr. Lew Blackburn has decided to once again run for reelection. If you don't already know him, this is your chance. He's done just about everything in education and is currently an administrator with Dallas Can Academies, a local charter school. Thank you for your service and years of dedication Dr. Blackburn.
Get to know what District 2 candidate Dustin Marshall is all about. Glad he stopped in.
Get to know Suzanne Smith, candidate for Dallas ISD Board of Trustees in District 2.
