When I pulled him aside, he could not believe it. “Really” he asked me. When I showed him the proof he literally jumped up, ran out of the room and screamed down the hall. In any other situation I would have be furious if a student ran out of the room screaming, this time I wanted to join him. When he returned I could tell his eyes crying. I was happy to see him so excited and celebrate. He worked hard and deserved jump in joy. As teacher we have to take time to celebrate their success with them. I feel lucky to have helped in some small way this time.
