"I'm not supported by my administration but I feel very supported in my department" is something I heard from at teacher on the K-12 Greatest Hits podcast. It resonated with me. When I was just getting started, I didn't always have the best administrative support. Granted, they were busy and the school was falling apart so they didn't have all the time in the world to deal with all the issues a baby teacher was having, but it was the veteran teachers that saved me and taught me. It was the experience of those teachers who had been there for ten plus years prior that gave me the knowledge that would lead me to be successful.
Just because your school is unstable doesn't mean you can't create your own stability. It may take some doing, but it's possible.
