My students that waffled back and forth about dropping out or not applying to college but persevered anyway also make me proud.
Shame on me for not believing and losing hope in some of these kids. Of all the kids I gave up on and doomed to nothing in my head, most of them were just fine. The ones that dropped out were also at graduation and told me that they are working. They are all doing just fine. Success means different things for everyone. That's not up to me, it's up to them.
I've provide a complete list of my ups and downs thinking about my first group of students graduating below so you can get the full picture of the journey from my eyes. The important thing is that they made it.
Congratulations class of 2016.
