By teachers, I mean me.
Rarely do I take on more than I can handle. Once more, I'm in a position where I'm not technically overstretched, but I'm having to have the tough conversation with myself about not getting to have 8 hours of sleep and 2 hours of relaxation time each day. Being on and productive for 16-20 hours a day then sleeping and repeating isn't exactly healthy and sustainable even if it's for a good cause.
Balance.
That's a word that every education writer preaches but nobody has a clear, widely applicable formula for how to attain it. I can't give advice I don't have for myself. The only thing that helps me is avoiding things that don't help me be the best for the people I work for/with. Sometimes it's better to bow out of something if you are going to do a bad job at it.
