Now, I would never buy a bag of hot Cheetos on my own on the weekend, but during the week? Oh yes, I do indulge on occasion. Kids bring food and candy to class every day. Sometimes you'll see them and sometimes you won't, but it's there. What do I do? I demand that they share with me. Watching their eyes light up at the surprise that you are willing to eat what they eat is worth it and can become the cornerstone of a new relationship with a student that may be normally withdraw and disinterested.
