Anyone else leave all their cleaning and organizing until just now?
I'm sitting and staring at all the things I stuffed in my closet so I could run out of school as quickly as possible at the last bell of school year 15-16. I hate past me.
No, I didn't feel like cleaning at the end of the year or ever. Who does? I know it's important and the biggest reason is that future me hates current me when I don't. Now I'm going through all the assignments I didn't pass back. Things I made copies of but decided not to assign are jumping out at me leaving me wondering why I didn't. Did I run out of time? Did I think it wouldn't effectively communicate what I wanted it to? I'll have to noodle over it a bit more.
The coolest thing is taking a second look at some of my previous students' work. There's some real gold in here. Solid exemplar work. I will absolutely be using some of the stuff I rediscovered to be used as a model for student assignments. I'm proud of my kids all over again.
