There is a great deal of good happening in Dallas.
I'm extra proud when I look at the progress my mother's Alma Mater, Carter High School, has made. Carter, now a collegiate academy as well, has earned a distinction in post-secondary readiness. Trustee Joyce Foreman is no doubt proud of the success of the High School, which falls within the boundaries of her district, District 6.
It's good to hear something positive for once to remind me that that sky isn't falling. We are doing good work. That doesn't mean our job is finished, but that we can achieve what we have in some of our schools, in all of our schools.
Congratulations not just to Carter, but to the several other teachers and schools across our district that are doing a top notch job helping our students be successful.
