Congratulations to all of the students advancing to the next level of competition. Most don't make it, but for those that do, I salute you,.
Today is a very exciting day for those young folks who have worked hard, trained, and invested their all into their sport. Long nights, early mornings, physical pain, and mental stress are all part of the student athlete experience. Those that are able to persevere and stay on top of their grades are being rewarded today with the rare opportunity to play at the next level. I'm proud of them. Many of our students think they are going to go pro and they are so wrong. Signing day can be a very difficult and stressful day for some of our kids as they begin to realize that their dream is slipping further into impossibility. As a teacher, it's your job to support them, not crush their dreams. Help those students of yours that aren't signing today realize that ball isn't necessarily life and that there are other opportunities for fulfillment.
