TEI: Should a change have been made in the first place in adopting this system and should we now make changes to it or scrap it all together?
Bond Money: Should we change how they money is allocated based on community outrage over things like the neglected SOC building, choice schools, or imbalanced distribution?
Charter Schools: Should we change DISD to keep up with and eliminate demand for these schools or should we fight to change the rulings and laws that allow them to even exists?
Much of the concern over these things is geographic which makes sense because it’s election season, but most people are focused on one of these issues over the others. Some people are looking at the district as a whole while others are only focused on their area.
The vast majority of people fall somewhere in the middle, but the debate between people that think numbers are witchcraft and people that say “dialoguing” instead of “talking” will certainly intensify in the coming weeks. Why? Fear and anxiety around change. Where will we go? What will we do? Will the new thing really be better than the old thing? Take a chance in hopes of something better or stay the mediocre course?
I guess we’ll see. What do you care about this election season?
