Sometimes you just have to let the madness happen.
It's the end of the year and final papers are turned in. It's OK to take the foot off the gas.
I have a classroom full of high school kids doing bad magic tricks.
You know that trick where you take a piece of paper and pretend to tear it while making a tearing sound with their mouth? About 20 kids are all doing different versions of that right now. "Hey! Let me try!" "Hey! Look at me!" One by one each kid is joining the fun. Some are really good at it. Others are terrible. A few accidentally actually rip their paper. I even have a few kids who can't the sound are just saying "RIP" really loud.
I'm laughing. They're laughing. It's a good time all around. We're all blowing off a little steam and it's pretty funny.
