For those of you who missed it, DISD had a snow day yesterday and I, for one, had a blast. I wasn't lying when I said I wasn't going to do anything yesterday. I ate, slept in, played with my dog, and caught up on some of my favorite TV shows (anyone else feel like The 100 is like watching your students run a country?) I took it easy because I knew in my teacher heart that we would have a part 2.
Chances are there will be no part 3 so make sure you get SOMETHING done today. Grading has been extended to Thursday, so instead of making up fake grades to hit your required minimum or throwing an extra participation grade in there, why don't you take a few minutes today to grade one of those assignments you never graded and forgot about because you put it in that box that you leave in your closet, under your bed, or in the trunk? You'll feel better. You'll feel like you accomplished something. It's good for you and it's good for the kids.
While you relax, remember that Dallas education is fun. Listen to us talk about it on our podcast.
Happy 2nd snow day!
