The second those rubrics hit our hands, each one of us starts checking off boxes trying to get the maximum number of points. No amount of urging from the professors to focus on the learning and not the grade could eliminate all of the fear I feel right now. Ah yes, grade induced anxiety and restlessness. Really takes me back.
I'm already prepping my best "just because you didn't like my idea doesn't mean I shouldn't get full credit" email just in case. What a terrible way to do school. It gets a little easier everyday, but I'm working at practicing what I preach. Focus on the learning. The learning is the thing, not grades.
