We have issues, but today, and every day, I'm thankful for one thing, his investment in my education. He pushed me to work hard, go to the best schools, and most importantly, he was around.
Many of my students don't have fathers that they can just decided to ignore like I do. Many don't have people period that push them to be great. I'm lucky to have a father that wants the best for me and pushes me to want and get it for myself.
I told him in my own terrible bad son kind of way (text and a card in the mailbox). We've had our issues, but everything I am is because of his commitment to my education from birth. Thanks dad.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there and to the moms that are doing double duty. You're important and appreciated.
