Coming back from summer isn't so much about the lessons, the tests, or getting to know student names. All of that kind of falls into place. For me, it's about routine. Staying up all night eating pizza with your animals may be for the cool kids, but it's not sustainable for teacher life.
Why am I torturing myself? I want to make sure I have my routine down for when school is back on. Turns out I'm not the only one. I saw plenty of teachers on campus. Some were here early helping new teachers get aclimated to the building and our way of doing things. Others were making sure their route to school with the new construction still made sense and could get them to the building on time.
Not a bad idea.
