No, that's not hyperbole. Well, it probably was when the Athletic Director said it to two of his coaches last week. I don't think anyone expects this coach to get run over with a car. In fact, it caused more laughter after the meeting than anything else, but that's not how you talk to your staff. That's a temper tantrum, not leadership.
It's certainly not the role of an Athletic Director to berate his coaches, whether they messed up or not. That's not how we treat our students and that's not how we treat our adults. It shouldn't be anyway.
