The State Board of Education met today, so this strikes me as important. What is the SBOE and what does it do? It’s an elected body and it makes decisions, but nobody cares because nobody knows what it does. They pick text books and talk with TEA or something, but why do they matter? Let’s find out. Read more after the jump. Dallas and Ft. Worth are predominantly covered by a wonderful woman by the name of Eirka Beltran. Know who she is? Do you care? If you answered “No,” then you are wrong. Let me tell you why. Our textbooks are chosen by them which is insanely important. Just recently, the board almost approved history text books that essentially painted climate change as witchcraft and liberal nonsense. The people spoke, the board acted, and now our new books have been approved and are, more or less, politically neutral and scientifically accurate.
