A Dallas Education Blog by Young Dallas Teachers
Had to shut down my 6th period today. They are always high energy and more talkative than other, but today? Today they were out of control. For some reason two of my kids thought they could run around and spray each other with the whiteboard spray. They had to go. Next a few would not stop talking so I began taking a point of for every time I had to redirect them. Eventually they got the point and the class got back on track. This was one of best classes we had together this year. Rocky start, but strong finish. Overall, it was a good day in Dallas Education for this teacher. Sometimes in DISD you have to change it up. Patience and consistency are key in struggling DISD schools. Sometimes you don't feel like it, but they really are.
