Warms my heart. Sure, that's just his student way of saying he likes Play-Doh, but it may be true that more Play-Doh would be a good thing.
I keep a bucket in my classroom with stressballs and play-doh for kids that are tired. our students have practice, homework, jobs, and everything else. Sometimes they come to school tired or run out of gas during the day. I'm guilty of both and have been since before I was their age. When I'm in meetings I stand in the back, play with my keys, and do anything else it takes to stay awake. I make meetings and classes work for me.
Why shouldn't I do that for my students?
They flatten it, break it up into shapes, smell it, and everything else. Good for them for remembering the joys of childhood.
As long as it isn't distracting them, I don't mind letting them keep themselves awake with a little Play-Doh.
