Trustee Cowan always served with a quiet dignity and grace. Never the most visible or vocal, even when steering the ship, he was a diplomat on the board and a faithful public servant.
I'm not really sure why I'm talking about him in the past tense since he's still working hard for our students, but I guess that it's easier to reflect on everything he has done when I do.
He took one of the most difficult and thankless job on the board more than once, serviing as president, while also working full time running a business that directly helps and provides opportunities to kids in our communities.
He walked the walk while quietly talking the talk. I was there when he was sworn in as president and I've been happy to be one of his constituents. Calm, cool, and collected were always the words I used to describe him.
Thank you for your hard work. I'll miss you.
